May I ask how many tie backs you personally have performed?
Please confirm that a metoclopramide infusion will be included during anaesthetic? (this was something recommended by a vet on another forum. The surgeon who did Dex's tie back agreed to do this)
What happens if my dog has 'silent regurgitation' during surgery?
Can you let me know whether chest x rays will be done prior to the op, to ensure there is no sub clinical aspiration pneumonia going on?
Will the surgeon be phoning me after he looks at my dog's airway/larynx to confirm whether he definitely wants to do the surgery?
If you are going to be giving my dog any food once he's awake, please confirm you will **only** give the food I'm bringing and please confirm he will only be having the food in small meatballs that are hand fed to him?
Please confirm that nobody will be putting a collar on my dog at any point, and that if you need to move him you will use the harness I am providing?
Will there be someone with/closely monitoring my dog right after the op and through the night?
Will you provide some Cerenia pills for the week after the op, in case my dog feels sick? (I recommend also getting some from your primary vet ahead of the op)
What % of dogs that you have operated on, have developed aspiration pneumonia shortly after surgery?
If this was your dog - would you want him to have this op?
